Soak in, admire, and savor the beautiful and ephemeral scenery that only spring in this town can offer,while strolling around Daigo’s apple orchards
In spring, when apple blossoms are in full bloom, we hold the “Apple Blossom Stroll” at specially-selected apple orchards in Daigo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, known for its Okukuji apples. The sight of apple orchards covered in blossoms is a rare and spectacular sight that can only be seen for a short time once the flowers come into bloom. In addition to admiring the flowers up close, each apple orchard offers a different scenery and way to enjoy them, allowing visitors to experience the time before these bright red apples ripen in the fall.

POLLINATION
Pollination is performed at apple orchards during the flowering season in order to produce apples in the fall.
Some orchards use honeybees to pollinate, but we meticulously hand-pollinate all of our apples one by one. -

The only apple orchard in Daigo Town with its own café, it also sells a variety of apple-related produce throughout the year, such as its popular apple pies and glacés. The orchard is also home to wild cherry trees, which when in bloom can be enjoyed at the same time as the apple blossoms.

Near the apple orchard, visitors can also enjoy the Tsukimachi Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls in Daigo Town. There are weeping cherry trees in the garden, which when in bloom can be enjoyed at the same time as the apple blossoms.

Visitors can spend a long time at this apple orchard, with fields spreading out on both sides of the road. There is no staff on duty, so please come after completing check-in at other orchards. The farm has a low mountain on the west side from where you can gaze out at the sunset.

This apple orchard is located in the highest part of Daigo Town where there is a noticeable temperature difference. Our attentive farming practices lead to beautiful reddish apples. The mountains flank the orchard from the east and west, so the best time to visit is when the sun is high in the sky.

Be sure to try the local dish, “tsuke-kenchin soba” noodles. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the apple orchard, they can enjoy a view of the orchard and the mountains from the window-side seating area of the adjacent soba noodle restaurant, Oishi-ya.

OKUKUJI PEACH AND
APPLE NAKANO FARMHere you can enjoy the view of apple flowers blooming next to the tea plantation.
Although visitors are not allowed to enter the apple orchard, it can be enjoyed as a scenic driving spot.
The apple orchards and tea plantations are private property, so no trespassing please.
BEAUTIFUL AND FLEETING APPLE BLOSSOMS.
The beginning of the red apple growing process usually begins with the blooming of apple blossoms in late April. Soon after the beautiful scenery of pretty white and pink flowers in bloom, farmers thin out the many flowers, leaving only those that will bear fruit (defloration). The blossoms in the apple orchard are beautiful but fleeting.

It is located in the northwestern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, in a mountainous area bordering Fukushima Prefecture to the north and Tochigi Prefecture to the west.
The town boasts Fukuroda Falls, one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan, therapeutic hot springs, and many local delicacies such as apples, tea, and soba noodles grown in the great outdoors. Despite being only about three hours from Tokyo, visitors can appreciate the town's abundance of natural blessings.

ALL FOUR SEASONS.
When we think of apples, we often think of enjoying their freshly harvested juicy goodness from around fall to winter, just as the weather turns chilly. But until they ripen and reach our shelves, painstaking preparations are made from winter to summer in the land of Daigo, as we wait for the harvest season of autumn. We want to share with you the appeal of these plucky apples. In “Minori Tabi,” we will report on the four seasons as the apples grow and ripen. Please check our Instagram for future information.
